Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for fancy wine or champagne sometimes. But during the summer months, there are so many perfect – and practical – opportunities for sipping pre-mixed cans: patio hangouts, barbecues, beach dates, park picnics, camping, or floating on the lake, to name a few! (Please drink responsibly, and only in legally designated areas 🙃)
One thing I struggle with though, is finding a canned beverage that isn’t too sweet tasting, even when they don’t contain any added sugar. You know that feeling you can get on your teeth? Eugh. That’s why I was so happy, among the many options out there, to discover Dos Locos!
Their drinks don’t taste like they’ve come from a can. They’re flavoursome, high quality, light and refreshing.

“Dos Locos” means “two crazies” in Spanish, and they’re all about having fun with your friends – your fellow crazies!
There are four delicious flavours to choose from, including Lime Tequila Margarita and Orange Sunrise Margarita, which both contain real tequila, and two different seltzers: Orange, Mango and Pineapple, and Strawberry and Lime.
My personal favourites are the Orange, Mango and Pineapple Seltzers, and the Lime Tequila Margaritas (as you can probably tell from the photos 😝), although they are all super refreshing, tasty, and easy to drink socially with friends!
Dos Locos Margaritas have been a favourite among the crowds for a while. Seriously, if you see them in your local liquor store, I’d recommend snapping them up because they are super popular and have been known to sell out fast!
The Seltzers are a new addition to their collection and at only 100 calories per can, they bring to the table two fun, low-calorie options that are bursting with flavour.
If you want to take your drinks up a notch, I’d recommend pouring them into cocktail glasses and garnishing with fruit!
Traditionally, margaritas are served in a…you guessed it, margarita glass, which are stepped coupe glasses, with salt along the rim, and a wedge of lime on the side. You can run a slice of lime around the rim before dipping it into a plate of salt, to help the salt stick and to add an extra kick! Dos Locos pre-mixed margaritas are fuss-free and perfect for this, because they’re made with real, authentic tequila – you’d never guess they came from a can if you did a blind taste test!
With Seltzers being a relatively new addition to the alcohol scene, the recommended glassware to serve them in is still up for debate. However Collins glasses, which are tall highball tumblers, seem to be the most popular option, and their simplicity suits the casual vibe of seltzers. You can add ice, and then pick any fruit that you think will go well with the flavour of your seltzer drink, such as strawberry, orange, lime, or perhaps cucumber.
Or, simply enjoy your Dos Locos drinks chilled, straight out of the can! ☺️
